Music Therapy Presentations

Music therapy presentations can be in the form of a lecture/seminar or workshop. The former is usually a talk which includes information about music therapy, what it is, the background of MT, how and where MT is used, and an explanation of how music therapists work.

A workshop is usually hands on and will often include demonstrating music therapy techniques such as improvisation, or musical activities which can be used.

The music therapy presentation in whichever form will often focus on a group or specific population, usually that related to the venue. An introduction to music therapy is more general and will cover aspects of music therapy used with a variety of populations. Video footage of a music therapist's own work will often accompany a presentation as an assistive tool to participants' understanding of music therapy.
