| Description of activity | Seat students in a circle. Ask them to poss the ball around the circle. Tell them to keep passing the ball to each other while the piano is being played. Then play the cymbal and ask them to bounce the ball to each other. Go back to playing the piano, ask them to pass the ball to each other. Tell them to pass the ball when they hear the piano, and to bounce the ball when they hear the cymbal. When this has been well established, the drum can be introduced, and the students can be asked to roll the ball to each other when they hear the drum. The end goal, is that they will be able to decide whether to pass, roll or bounce the ball according to the sound they hear. |
