Why use KS Productions
KS Productions has at its heart, the desire to help promote Music Therapy in New Zealand.
The music therapy practice is based in Ellerslie, in a room set up for the music therapy session. It contains piano, percussion and various other musical instruments.
Each session is "tailor made" for each client. Within the session I use a combination of both music and nonmusic therapy strategies which include; the Nordoff & Robbins approach (accessing the "music child"), Greenspan (following the client's lead), and sensory integration (visual/auditory/tactile). My approach borrows from speech, occupational, physiotherapy techniques, and sometimes utilizes aspects of the ABA model (when appropriate). For the older population, I use an adapted version of these methods. You may ask "what is a music therapy session like?'
Students, parents, professionals, feel free to send your queries to Kathryn.
